Please come dressed appropriately for treatment!
Macedon Family Chiropractic strives to keep patients comfortable during treatment. We ask that you wear loose fitting athletic clothing for office visits.
Because this is a hands on treatment, the doctor needs to be able to look at your back and test neurological function on the arms and legs.
Thank you for your cooperation!

Initial Visit
Whether you are coming in with pain, or would like to participate in wellness care, all patients are thoroughly screened to give the doctor a good picture of the patients health.
- Before seeing the doctor you will need to fill out a Patient Registration and Health History form. These can be accessed online under the FORMS tab.
- When you see the doctor a physical exam will be performed including range of motion, neurological and orthopedic exams. If needed, blood pressure and temperature will also be taken.
- After the exam the doctor will go over the diagnosis with you, discuss treatment options and goals of treatment.
- When a treatment plan has been agreed on, treatment will begin. This usually includes soft tissue and adjustments. Additional services may be indicated for different cases. These services are discussed under the SERVICES tab.

Follow Up Visits
Many cases require follow up visits to train the body to maintain the appropriate position and movement. It is important to understand that pain does not spontaneously manifest overnight. It is an accumulation of micro traumas to the area causing you to reach your threshold and feel pain. It takes a long time to cause the pain and it will in most cases take longer than one or two treatments for the pain to go away.
- A follow up history since the last visit will be asked.
- Range of motion and palpation of the involved area(s) will be recorded to keep track of progress.
- Treatment for the day will be performed following the treatment plan.

Re-Evaluations
To make sure that you are progressing and meeting the goals of treatment, Re-Evaluations will occur on occasion usually around 4 weeks after the initial visit (depending on frequency of care). This also shows the insurance company that you are improving with chiropractic care and that they should continue to re-imburse you. The visit will typically include:
- A follow up history
- Range of motion and palpation
- Positive orthopedic or neurological tests from the first visit will be repeated for evaluation of progress.
- Treatment will continue as planned if progress is noted. If the treatment plan needs to be changed at this time new goals and treatments will be discussed and decided on with the patient.
